A net filter software to protect children from inappropriate web content
The Internet turned parenthood into a challenge, mostly on account of the adult content that is basically, one search away from your children. The best way to go about this is to install dedicated software that can restrict access to such inappropriate websites.Anti-Porn casts out the bad online and offline content, while offering parents a great deal of control over their children’s activity. Aside from forbidding access to pornography, it blocks chat applications or games and it allows parents to decide the amount of time their kids spend on the computer.
During installation you are required to set a master password. You are required to enter it every time you wish to exit the application, or access the main menu from the system tray. It can be later changed from the Settings menu.
The program’s GUI is user friendly and visually appealing, featuring access to all of the program’s modules. The circular, predominantly blue interface has obvious commands. You can switch to child or adult mode by simply pressing a button, follow the URL log to see what's been going on in the web browser, take a snapshot, or configure settings.
The Setup section enables users to configure the filter options. You can populate the blacklist with forbidden websites and the whitelist with the ones you wish to allow. Chat / games access can also be limited and the access to the computer or Internet can be scheduled. Additionaly, Anti-Porn is able to record all your PC activity and stores the captured images so you can view them later.
All in all, Anti-Porn has an impressive collection of modules that can impose all sorts of restrictions. Settings and filters cannot be changed without entering the predefined password, so make sure that your kid isn’t able to guess it
